If you’re feeling disconnected from your feminine, this blog is for you.
I tapped in today and asked my womb, what is it that needs to be shared at this time? And the first thing that came to me was the foundations of connecting and understanding our feminine energy.
This might come to you as a surprise so before you even start reading, let me give you a short backstory. I experienced a sudden awakening in 2012 and was shot into the spiritual realms which eventually led me to being immersed in spiritual communities.
I can confidently say that after having too much experience with all of these tips, they are a large part of the reason why women who come to me are feeling so disconnected from their femininity.
disconnected from your feminine? 4 common practices you SHOULD NOT be doing
After over a decade of doing this work, this is what I most commonly see when working with women who are feeling disconnected from their feminine. And although every woman is different, if you are sensitive, consider yourself an empath, in a relationship that’s yearning more intimacy or just simply desiring to connect more with your feminine, I invite you to get curious about these oh-too-easily-accepted practices.
practice #1 that is leaving you disconnected from your feminine: Yoga
Yoga. I love you. I hate you. I’m not sure how I feel about you (coming from a former yoga teacher…..hi!)
Before we get started, let me tell you that I have a lifetime of experience with movement (grew up a pro-dancer, became a personal trainer, then taught fitness to teachers worldwide). I LOVE (maybe am obsessed) with movement, and if the modality exists, I’ve probably tried it.
So I’m not new to using movement as a way to connecting to my body. In fact, whenever I feel off, one of the first things I do is get moving! And yoga was at one point an important part of my life. So I don’t want to forbid you from taking your favorite yoga teachers class (I know that feeling!).
What I want to share with you is the following:
Yoga was created for BOYS, at the age of 11-13, to bypass their se#ual desires and become connected to their spiritual body more than their physical body.
LET’S GET ONE THING STRAIGHT: the FEMININE is ROOTED, LIVES FOR and ANCHORS into the BODY.
As soon you practice any modality that leaves you feeling Trans’d-out, I can assure you, that is NOT feminine. It may FEEL flowy, peaceful, or Kum-Bah-Yah, but it IS NOT, helping you connect to your feminine.
After completing my yoga teacher training (too many years ago) I noticed myself fully disconnected from my body. I felt airy fairy all the time, with very little hunger, always meditating, happy with just BEING. And this my friends is a distorted form of BEING (that’s a topic for another conversation – I don’t want to write a book here, just a blog).
So, if you are practicing yoga consistently and feeling disconnected from your feminine, I invite you to try the following:
Balance it out with something more grounded or flowy.
Try dancing. Try weight training. Try Barre (my favorite). And see how these formats leave you feeling.
REMEMBER: airy fairy IS NOT feminine. ROOTED, ANCHORED, EMBODIED are feminine.
Got it?
On to the next.
practice #2 that is leaving you disconnected from your feminine: meditation
Meditation. I love you meditation. I really do. I meditate every day (sometimes twice per day) and also believe that meditation is a way of life, not necessarily a ‘practice’ on our to-do list. So let me be clear, MEDITATION in itself is not the issue, IF you are practicing an embodied form of meditation.
Let me give you a little back story:
Upon my spiritual awakening, I began meditating like it was my job. No really, I actually spent hours in meditation. Not because I wanted to, but because I had to (another story for another day, but if you’re interested I talk all about it in my book).
So I love meditation and strongly believe in it.
What I see is the issue with meditation is that most women practicing it are LEAVING THEIR BODIES! (like I did when I didn’t know any better!).
Here’s the thing my love, as women, we have a VERY NATURAL way of being spiritual (hence why you don’t need yoga and meditation like 13-year-old boys). I’m serious though. We have a natural connection to the spiritual and our practice is not learning how to meditate but learning how to practice embodied meditation.
These are 2 very different things. I am currently in a meditative state, writing to you right now. I feel my body relaxed. I’ve relaxed my jaw and I feel centered in heart and womb. I am practicing embodied meditation (there is more to this but you get the just of it).
The last bit I’ll say on my beloved meditation which has taught me so much through the years: if you are meditating and feeling blissful, out of body or connected to something or somewhere out there (far away from your heart and womb) you should NOT be meditating and expecting to feel connected to your feminine.
Unfortunately, this is a sham for women. It will only leave you feeling disconnected, without boundaries, disembodied, and likely drop your libido and lust for life…….
Enough said.
practice #3 that is leaving you disconnected from your feminine: working out on your bleed
My friend, listen to me. From someone who has learned, applied, and now teaches cyclical living as not only a way of life but as a way to HEAL your body and connect with your feminine, I can tell you for a fact that this random CRAZE (that is driving me crazy every time I see it) of women working out with HIIT workouts and crazy heart-pumping weight-lifting during their bleed is like oil in water. It simply will never make sense to our female bodies.
I won’t get into why I believe this has been purposefully put into our fitness-obsessed culture but I will tell you one thing: your Bleed is SACRED and the amount of DEEP REST you receive on your BLEED will undoubtedly determine how powerful, magnetic, and glowing you are when you ovulate. I know this. I work with this. I help women understand and implement this.
So, find a way to move your body that feels good while you bleed, but please, stop pushing yourself to the limit during this time. However hard you are working out, that’s how hard you are working against your feminine!

practice #4 that is leaving you disconnected from your feminine: the boss babe syndrome
Oh boss babes. How they crept into our culture and have now somehow created a status quo for any woman who is making moves in the world.
Let me tell you something. This is coming from a recovering work-a-holic. Being a bad-ass boss-babe is going to leave you feeling alone, dry and exhausted. There’s nothing cute, feminine, or magnetic about that. (So no, it does not help to connect with your feminine!)
Can you be powerful, magnetic and make BOLD Moves? Of course. I’m not sure how else I would describe my everyday approach to this business. But believing you have to do everything yourself, prove yourself through that quantity of work you do and be available to everyone at all times is just old news.
So learn how to anchor into your feminine flow, trust the rhythm of your body and belive in what is possible when you do let your True Feminine lead (not the one that is desperately seeking for approval).
