For years I would work until late hours not realizing how it was affecting my ability to connect with my feminine energy. I’d wake up feeling groggy and do all of my feminine practices but still somehow in the middle of the day would crash. I just didn’t feel right. I then realized that my evening routine was way more important than my morning routine, especially as an empath and highly sensitive. I was working against myself the whole time.
So today I’m sharing with you my go-to tips on how to end your work day (especially if you’re like me and you actually love to work and sometimes can overwork) so that you connect with your feminine energy before getting to bed.
I promise you, once you get this down you will wake up feeling like a goddess.
5 tips to connect with your feminine energy at the end of your workday
Lately I’ve been having longer work days. Honestly, I’m not complaining. I actually love what I do (writing here to you, incredible healing sessions with powerful women who are waking up to their power and beauty and running the SOFIA School of Feminine Initiatory Arts).
Needless to say, I can easily get caught up with my to-do list. But, after so many years of getting stuck in the ‘work-overload’ hamster wheel, I’ve figured out a way to hack it!
Now, I can still have my longer work sessions when I feel in flow and inspired (I follow the cyclical entrepreneur work flow so long work days are NOT the problem, it’s our routines that ARE, – hence the reason for this blog!) with these simple tips that actually feel good and help me get more done!
Tip #1: end your work day right and connect with your feminine energy
Connect with the Elements: Fire, Water, Air, Earth. These will bring you back into your Feminine body wisdom and drop you back into the natural rhythm that balances your brain and nervous system.
This looks like using incense, lighting a candle, taking a bath, fixing your home, watering your plants, or rearranging things in your home to make things tidy. Playing with your cat or cooking. Anything that allows you to drop back into the natural rhythm and elements of life is amazing to connect with your feminine energy.

Put on music and sing or play an instrument!
I know this sounds simple and it really is. As a sound healer, it’s hard to not want to share the science and technology behind why sound and music can literally change your Physiology! For the sake of this conversation and helping you connect with your feminine energy, just know the following:

Sound has always been a large part of the feminine path and the feminine traditions And it’s one of my favorite ways to get out of the logical mind and back into my feminine energy.
The rain drum is especially powerful to help clear the mind and the static that accumulates from too much mental activity, computer time or chatter. I use it in almost every sound healing session I host and it works everytime. Take a listen:

Use high-quality essential oils!
Smell is one of the most powerful ways for women to connect to their feminine energy because it connects us to our subconscious mind, which is a very important part of connecting to your feminine energy.
You can add essential oils into your body oils, put them in a diffuser, cook with them, or simply smell them from the bottle. Use them any way you would like. This is why incense and essential oils have also always been a part of the feminine traditions and Mary Magdalene was known to carry her alabaster jar full of oils and special potions. Get into your feminine brain!
Art, play, cook, clean.
There are so many ways to get out of the logical mind and into the wisdom of the body. Sometimes we have time to play with our kittens but sometimes we simply don’t. So I’m not going to tell you to go outside and play like a little girl because that’s not always the answer.
What I will say is that cooking at the end of my day or doing laundry or finding a way to make practical tasks a living embodiment of your feminine energy (by putting on music or changing into more beautiful clothing) is incredibly soothing and supportive to your feminine energy.
So if you have time to play, by all means, take out the sketchbook, take your dog for a walk, or do anything else that makes you happy. But don’t forget the simple things are also feminine practices and have been used as modalities for women to connect with their feminine energy for centuries.
Tip #5: end your work day right and connect with your feminine energy
Get outdoors!
Let’s ground! After living in Hawaii and moving to New York City, I can’t stress enough how important it is to ground if you are surrounded by more cement than you are by trees. If you work with air conditioning, sit in closed spaces like buildings or apartments, and do not walk around barefoot, you need to ground. That means:
bare feet on grass.
There’s simply no way around it. And I know it’s not possible to do it daily for all of us, but when you can it makes a huge difference. As an energy healer and womb keeper it is very obvious to me when clients are not receiving the energy from the earth. Besides feeling frazzled and disembodied, it takes a toll on your immune system and so much more. So let’s keep this one simple:
Sit next to a tree or stare out into a body of water.
I’ve been starring at the river here over NYC and it’s been a HUGE help! The eyes are powerful gateway into the energetic systems of the body so what you look at will indeed determine how you feel.

Tip #6: BONUS
SUN GAZE!
This may seem like old news but I have to add it in. Especially after changing my work routine to so much more screen time, I have noticed that sun gazing is a must.
Ideally done during sunrise or sunset, take a few minutes to soften your eyes and breathe in the rays of the sun. I talk more about this inside the membership and explain in detail the practice of sun gazing.
